What Are the Health Benefits of Kombucha?
Kombucha is made by fermenting sweetened black or green tea with a culture of bacteria and yeast, known as a SCOBY (Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast). So what does that give you?
Live cultures
As the tea ferments, the culture produces acids and natural carbonation, and bacteria and yeast grow in the brew. That is where the fizz and tang come from, and why many people choose kombucha as a gut-friendly drink.
Tea polyphenols
Kombucha starts as tea, and tea, especially green tea, is naturally rich in antioxidants called polyphenols.
A lighter alternative
Our kombucha has 70 calories per 330ml bottle and no sweeteners, so it is an easy swap for soda or juice, and a good alcohol-free option on a night out.
Kombucha is a drink, not a medicine, so if you have a health condition or are pregnant, check with your doctor first. Want to know more? Read What is Kombucha? or our FAQs.
